About LTBa

LTBa is a Denver-based modern residential architecture practice, specializing in custom homes, additions, and renovations throughout Colorado.  We design homes for clients who value craft, precision, and the quality of the finished result.

Design Philosophy

Our work emphasizes natural light, connection to the outdoors, high-quality materials, and spaces that are peaceful, restorative, and feel good to be in. We look for solutions that are creative, elegant, and functional.

Our work combines a refined modern aesthetic with Passive House and high-performance building principles to create homes that are beautiful and technically sophisticated, delivering exceptional energy efficiency, superior comfort and indoor air quality, long-term durability, and increased resilience to wildfires.

Building Science + Passive House

Passive House demands a deep understanding of building science — from orientation and window placement to airtight construction and mechanical systems — and technical performance is only part of what that understanding enables. We believe building science should inform architecture, not define it.

Luke Taylor-Brown is a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD). That expertise allows us to design homes that are healthier, more comfortable, more resilient, and more energy efficient — whether or not a project ultimately seeks certification. Our work integrates that technical rigor with the architectural quality our clients expect: homes filled with natural light, rich in material detail, and designed around the way our clients live.

Luke Taylor-Brown

Principal + Founder

LTBa is led by Luke Taylor-Brown, AIA. Originally from Massachusetts, he grew up spending time outdoors and immersed in the arts. Inspired by natural light and the tactile nature of materials, he looks for ways to connect people to the spaces they inhabit. He is a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD) and brings his passion for sustainability-focused solutions to every project.

After graduating with honors from Syracuse University’s School of Architecture, he worked at award-winning firms in Boston, San Francisco, and Denver before founding LTBa in 2016. He lives in a remodeled Ranch house in Denver with his wife and two children.
